How I build

Product engineering,
not feature work.

I've spent a decade learning what makes products succeed — and it's rarely the technology alone.

Ship products, not features

Every line of code serves a user outcome. I don't build features — I solve problems that move business metrics.

Performance is a feature

Cold starts, scroll smoothness, animation frame rates — the invisible details that separate good apps from great ones.

Design is how it works

I care about the 200ms between tap and response. The transition no one notices. The spacing that just feels right.

Architecture for longevity

Code ships fast when it's well-structured. I build systems that let teams move with confidence, not caution.

Collaboration over silos

Great products are built by teams. I work closely with designers, PMs, and backend engineers to ship cohesive experiences.

Growth

SBN Awareness

SwiftSwiftUIBottomSheetCombineAnalytics
Problem

Users weren't aware of active SBN (Surat Berharga Negara) offerings on Bareksa. Existing SBN promotions were buried deep in the app, missing the chance to convert interested users into first-time government bond buyers.

My role

Built a bottom sheet on the home screen that surfaces active SBN offerings in real-time. Designed the UI, integrated with the SBN API, and implemented smart display logic to show the sheet at the right moment without disrupting the user flow. Collaborated with product and marketing to define trigger rules based on user behavior.

SBN visibility on the home screen directly increased purchase intent. The feature became a key driver for Bareksa's SBN growth strategy.

Mutual Fund · AI

Bareksa AI

SwiftSwiftUIWKWebViewJavaScript BridgeQuantit API
Problem

Investors struggled to make sense of their mutual fund portfolios — too many data points, no clear guidance. Bareksa partnered with Quantit to bring AI-powered portfolio analysis to retail investors, but the web-based engine needed a native iOS experience.

My role

Built the iOS integration from scratch — native shell for performance-critical views (navigation, caching, offline state) and webview for the Quantit-powered AI analysis engine. Orchestrated the bi-directional communication between native and web layers via JavaScript bridge. Handled edge cases like offline mode, session management, and deep linking into specific analysis views.

Bareksa became the first Indonesian investment platform to offer AI-driven mutual fund analysis, setting a new standard for retail investment UX.

Recurring Investment

Nabung Rutin

SwiftUIKitMVVMCombineBCA API
Problem

Millions of Indonesians want to invest regularly but find the process intimidating. Bareksa needed a frictionless recurring investment flow with bank integration to automate the entire process.

My role

Led iOS architecture and implementation. Designed the auto-debit flow with BCA integration. Built the entire onboarding-to-scheduling pipeline — from account linking to recurring schedule management. Worked closely with BCA's API team to handle edge cases like insufficient funds and payment retries.

Shipped end-to-end in8 weeks. Nabung Rutin became one of Bareksa's fastest-growing features, making recurring investment accessible to millions.

Infrastructure

iOS Design System

SwiftUIUIKitSwift PackageFigma
Problem

The Bareksa iOS app had grown to50+ screens with inconsistent components, colors, and spacing. Feature development was slowing down as developers spent time recreating UI elements and fixing visual bugs.

My role

Designed and built the component library from scratch. Defined tokens, typography scale, motion language, and contribution guidelines. Created a Figma-to-code pipeline that kept design and engineering in sync. Established review processes to ensure adoption across the team.

Became the foundation for every new feature shipped since. Reduced UI development time significantly and eliminated visual inconsistency across the app.

Discovery

Product Showcase

SwiftUICombineAnalyticsA/B Testing
Problem

Users couldn't easily discover Bareksa's growing catalog of investment products. The existing list view didn't communicate product value, leading to low engagement with new product launches.

My role

Built the discovery surface from scratch. Designed the card system, filtering logic, and deep-link architecture. Implemented analytics to track user behavior and ran A/B tests to optimize card layouts and content hierarchy.

Became the primary discovery surface for the catalog. Increased product visibility and helped users find investment products that matched their risk profile.

Developer Experience

Internal Dev-Tool

SwiftUIKitUserDefaultsNetwork
Problem

The iOS team spent hours on manual debugging, environment switching, and feature flag management. Context switching between tools was killing development velocity and slowing down releases.

My role

Built an in-app developer tool accessible via shake gesture. Included environment switcher, feature flags, API logger, and performance overlay. Designed it to be non-intrusive — only available in debug builds, with zero impact on production performance.

Adopted by the entire iOS team within a week. Became an essential part of the development workflow, significantly reducing time spent on debugging and testing.

Technical craft

Tools are
choices.

I choose deliberately. Every tool solves a specific problem.

Language & UI
SwiftSwiftUIUIKitObjective-CCore DataCore Animation

Swift for safety. SwiftUI for speed. UIKit for control. I pick the right tool per screen.

Architecture
MVVMCleanVIPViperTCACoordinatorStartUpTaskRepository

Architecture should enable velocity, not slow it down. I've shipped with all of these — and know when each fits.

Concurrency
async/awaitCombineRxSwiftGCDActorsTaskGroup

Modern Swift concurrency for new code. Combine for reactive UIs. GCD when you need surgical control.

Tooling
SPMXcodeGenxcconfigFastlaneSnapKitInstrumentsGit

Good tooling is invisible. I invest in automation so the team ships without friction.

Quality
XCTestXCUITestSnapshotTestingSwiftLintCI/CDCode Coverage

Tests aren't overhead — they're confidence. Snapshot tests catch visual regressions before users do.

Product
Design SystemsAnalyticsA/B TestingDeep LinkingFeature FlagsAccessibility

I build systems that let product teams move fast without breaking things.

What I believe

Software
is a craft.

I'm Agus — Jakarta-based, 7+ years building iOS products that millions use. I care about the intersection of engineering and user experience.

Agus Cahyono
Jakarta

The best code is invisible

Users don't care about your architecture. They care if the app feels fast, looks right, and works every time. I optimize for that.

Shipping beats perfection

I've learned that 80% shipped today beats 100% shipped next month. But I also know which 20% matters most.

Great products are built by teams

I've worked with designers, PMs, backend engineers, and QA. The best products come from real collaboration — not handoffs.

Say hello

Let's build something
that people trust.

Always happy to talk iOS, product, and craft — whether you're building something or just comparing notes.
